About Jim

I am Jim DuPlessis and I live in Elizabethtown, KY with my wife of 25 years, Marcy. We have 3 children; Jay, a senior at the University of Kentucky; Kate, a Flight Attendant for American Airlines; and Tori, a senior at Elizabethtown High School. I was born and raised right here in Hardin County; and I am the youngest of five children, to John and Kitty DuPlessis. After graduating from Elizabethtown High School, I attended UK and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I have been working in heavy industry for over 24 years, and currently work as a Senior Technical Consultant for ChemTreat, Inc. I enjoy my family and time spent with friends. I am an avid outdoorsman, enjoy camping, hiking, hunting, and off-roading. I especially enjoy troubleshooting problems to come to a common sense solution.

As a grandmother and child advocate, I have asked Jim to contact and assist grandparents who were raising grandchildren that were struggling with benefits and bureaucratic red tape; he always answered their call and made sure things got done. He compassionately supports neglected and abused children and recently co-sponsored the Kinship Care Bill (HB-230). Jim also took a stance regarding the spiraling opioid crises by sponsoring a Bill (HB-110) that helps further protect our elderly and those who are sick and vulnerable. We need to keep people in Frankfort like Jim who doesn’t just tow the party line, but who will do what’s right regardless of the politics.”
